During the first half of the tie, it was safe to say that it was a 50-50 game, but whatever Portugal's coach, Santos told them during the half time break, really inspired them as they scored two goals within the space of three minutes to record their first full-time win of the tournament.

Cristiano Ronaldo gave them the lead with a superb header in the 50th minute and soon after that, Nani stole the show by sticking a foot out to a Ronaldo's shot that deceived the Welsh goalkeeper to make it 2-0.

Ronaldo's Real Madrid teammate Gareth Bale, did well to trouble the opponent's defense but he couldn't pull it off.

This is the first time that Ronaldo is reaching a final with his national side after losing to Greece in 2004 Euro finals, and to Spain in the 2008 and 2012 semi-finals.

Portugal is set to face the winner between France and Germany in the finals.
