Jose Mourinho and his son stayed at home to watch England draw Russia

Manchester Utd boss Jose Mourinho prepares to watch England's opening game of Euro 2016 against Russia with his son, posting a message on Instagram reading '3 matches in a row, the sofa is getting tired of us'

It's been a frantic summer for Jose Mourinho so perhaps it's understandable that the start of Euro 2016 has seen the new Manchester United boss take some downtime to enjoy the tournament.

Having been appointed as the new boss at Old Trafford after taking over from the sacked Louis van Gaal just days after the Red Devils won the FA Cup, Mourinho has been in the spotlight since the end of the season.

The 53-year-old  took to Instagram to post an image of himself with his son shortly before England's clash with Russia, admitting that a third successive Euro 2016 match had left the family sofa at breaking point.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw also took to Instagram ahead of the game with the injured full-back posting a message reading 'Come on Boys!!!' in support of the Three Lions

Mourinho said on his account: '3 matches in a row, the sofa is getting tired of us.'

Manchester United's Wayne Rooney played in midfield during England's 1-1 draw with Russia
The United defender though failed to keep a clean sheet after the Three Lions conceded a stoppage time goal

But even from the comforts of the family home, Mourinho would have had his Manchester United eyes open, keeping track of Wayne Rooney's performance from the centre of midfield and Chris Smalling in defence.
