Despite being in the middle of a neck-and neck-three-way title race, his Barcelona team-mates still had time to surprise the full back with a flurry of eggs and flour.
The three-time Champions League winner was greeted by balloons and a cake from his model girlfriend Joana Sanz before training, but had to settle for the raw ingredients from his colleagues.
Alves seemed to see the funny side grinning in pictures with the culprits including Neymar, Arda Turan and Rafinha on Instagram.
The Barca veteran might have known what was coming for him, having taken part in an identical assault on fellow Brazilian Adriano in October.
