Arbeloa bids farewell to Real Madrid after & wonderful years at capital

Alvaro Arbeloa his last game at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in Real Madrid's 3-2 victory over Valencia, and was given a very grateful standing ovation by the 75,000 fans that came to watch the match.

While Arbeloa plans on continuing his career elsewhere, he has confirmed he will not remain in Spain.
"I will not retire from football," he said. "I hope to play more until I'm just an amateur.
"I will come here [to watch Real Madrid] when I can but in Spain I cannot wear any shirt other than this."
                      
The 33-year-old took the time to reflect on his time at Real Madrid, where he has spent seven years since joining from Liverpool in 2009.
"I have been proud to wear this shirt," he said. "It's the best thing that can happen to any player.
"Every second I've spent on this field has been the best of my life."
Arbeloa has won a La Liga, Champions League, FIFA World Club Cup, UEFA Super Cup and two Copa del Reys with Los Blancos.
