Woman buys old bomb shelter and recycles it into jaw-dropping underground house

This bunker was built in Britain to serve as a bomb-proof shelter for civilians. But over the years it has fallen into decay. In a time of economic crisis, this was good solution. All the money Elizabeth spent really paid off.

Elizabeth Strutton knows how to bunk down for the night – creative woman transformed a U.K. World War II bunker into a hideaway home. Take a look!

More photos below...

The interior of the bunker has undergone a complete transformation.
The ventilation system and the water and drainage pipes have been fully modernised.

A highly original solution for lighting up the rooms: sun tubes that poke through the sturdy ceiling.
Now the former wartime shelter is barely recognisable!
Veterans, who often come to visit Elizabeth’s place, are surprised by the building transformation.
