Police arrest 32 persons for killing 1 and destroying church in Niger State

                   
Niger State police command has arrested 32 youths from Pandogari in Rafi local government area of the state for allegedly killing one person and burning a church.


It was gathered that the incident occurred when a youth allegedly defamed the Prophet Mohammed (SWA) in one of his posting on a social media.

It was learnt that the youths were irked by what they called defamation of the holy prophet and started going after the boy before the village head intervened and took the boy and the irate youths to his palace.

At the village head’s palace it was learnt that the situation went out of control as the youths not satisfied by the call for peace started attacking the 20- year- old boy who later gave up the ghost.

It was learnt that the youths still not done , also burnt a church in the process before the soldiers and a police team immediately swung into action to calm the situation down.

The police public relations officer, Niger State command, Bala Elkana, confirmed that the incident occurred Monday night and those 32 persons involved in the violence were so far arrested.

According to him the police would not allow people to take laws into their hand. s.nor allow the relative peace enjoyed in the state to be impeded in any way by any group.
